Arconic is currently in search of a Windows Email Engineer to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Resource Unit in Pittsburgh, PA.

The principal challenges of this position are to design, manage and support the company wide Microsoft Exchange and associated environments used to securely support our companies email functions. 
 
This position will ensure the entirety of architecture by adequately addressing all the pertinent concerns from its stakeholders.  It will ensure integrity of architecture by collaborating and reviewing solutions with various stakeholders and interested parties, reconciling conflicting concerns, and showing the trade-offs needed to create a robust email environment.  This position will also need to understand the business and user requirements of an enterprise email system which is critical to the company’s business processes and be able to help support business solutions that required advanced email usage and interaction.  This position will also need to keep current with emerging technologies and best in class industry business trends and practices.
 
This role will direct others in supporting and enhancing existing systems and technologies; and to apply and teach Arconic’s standards, procedures and technologies.  The incumbent will participate as an internal consultant to Arconic’s businesses and various customer groups.
  • As an individual or as a member of a team, provide the design, procurement, development and implementation of Windows technology.
  • Assist in the selection and assessment of new technologies.
  • Functions as a key resource for major activities within the area of assignment.
  • Provide expert technical application of Windows technology for facilities and processes.
  • This position is necessary to apply technical expertise in the application of information technology to problems of advanced complexity and to implement these solutions in an economical, timely, and safe fashion. 
  • Acts as Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for major projects in the Windows area.
 
Major Activities/Key Challenges
  • Work alone or as part of a team to develop, implement, evaluate, procure, and/or support computer systems and information solutions that meet the needs of the customer and add the most value to the company.  This is to be accomplished by utilizing technically sound methods of investigation, analysis, design, planning, and scheduling.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer interaction in order to identify and recommend computer and business solutions to effectively and efficiently satisfy the data processing and information requirements of the business. 
  • Manage the reactionary support and/or preventive maintenance process for the systems in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the customers of the systems in assigned area(s) of responsibility, and to other GIS personnel.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business processes in area(s) of assignment; participate in, and learn how to perform, the analysis of the customer's processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the Expert Service Agreement (ESA) process in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Operate within Arconic GIS standards and conventions and applicable Arconic Business Unit/Resource Unit standards.
  • Identify, establish and support value-added cross-functional data and system linkages.
  • Ensure appropriate methodologies, support processes and procedures are in place, and key system/quality indicators are measured, where appropriate.
  • Comply with all guidelines detailed in the IT ASAT (with a specific focus on business partnerships, change control, disaster recovery, and security) for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Operate within an on- and off-shore model that provides development and/or support solutions in the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Pursue continuous learning consistent with the movement in job requirements, changes in technology, and changes in the organization.
  • In addition to individual priorities, manage multiple system services or larger projects including project estimates, status communications, and schedules; execute the plans including regular review with immediate supervisor; direct the day-to-day activity for the team.
  • Lead the discovery, planning and implementation of process improvements in individual tasks and in the work team


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited school
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with Windows Server.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The incumbent must demonstrate a solid understanding of systems analysis, design, and programming techniques.
  • The incumbent must be knowledgeable in the location’s standards, conventions, procedures and technical environment.
  • The incumbent must have strong human relation skills and be able to interact with internal and external customers, other analysts, and GIS management.
  • The incumbent must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • The incumbent must be able to provide work direction to teams and manage large projects.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies
  • Candidate with extensive Microsoft Exchange server (2016 and above)
  • Enterprise scale architecture experience
  • Office 365 experience
  • Experience with Cisco Ironport email security appliance
  • PowerShell Script
  • Active Directory and LDAP, Kerberos
  • General Cloud Services experience
