Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Tool Maker. This position is located at our Aerospace manufacturing plant in Fullerton, CA.

Performs the layout fabrication of all types of tool and dies for Header and Nut Forming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fabrication of all Header and Nut forming tooling.
  • Sets up and operates all shop machines to .00002 of an inch if required.
  • Performs the layout fabrication of all types of tools, dies, fixtures and special machines. This frequently includes supplementing information on tool design drawings or improvising tool and dies through own initiative and ingenuity when no tool design drawing exists
  • Constructs temporary tooling, economically, to produce short product runs or prototype parts.
  • Makes sketches of tooling for tool design purpose of developed part and progressions.
  • Utilizes complete knowledge of prints, work orders, machinist handbooks, trigonometry, precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Rework steel and carbide dies and punches from tool prints, sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Trains tool and dies apprentices and personnel of lesser skill as needed.
  • Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.   
  • Keeps work area clean (and equipment), safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
  • Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.  


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED;
  • Minimum of five (5) year experience in a Tool Room environment;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
