Job Summary

Performs Gas Tungsten-Arc welding application to a wide variety of blades, vanes and cluster vanes.







Essential Functions

May be required to perform hand-grinding operations requiring the use of Bader Grinder, Bench Grinder, and/or Air Gun Tools to prep parts properly for welding.
 


Job Responsibilities

Individual must have a good understanding of basic metallurgy in order to perform job assignments properly and without damage to parts.  (including the affects weld     materials may have on parts).
 
Welders perform job duties as instructed by router and PMS sheets.
 
Obtain information from internal routers and PMS sheets as required.        
 
May be required to perform hand-grinding operations requiring the use of Bader Grinder, Bench Grinder, and/or Air Gun Tools to prep parts properly for welding.
 
Visually inspect work throughout the welding process to ensure accuracy and proper amount of weld adheres to surfaces.
 
Fill out all related paperwork i.e. routers, daily log sheets, etc., following standard operating procedures.
 
Ability to use proper and safe containerization methods for all hazardous waste.
 
Adhere to all company safety rules and practices and wears protective equipment as directed.
 
Keep work area clean according to 6’S standards.
 
Perform other job duties as needed or directed by management.


Qualifications

Education:

This position requires a minimum of a High School Education, or GED.  Formalized welding school and/or training and experience required, knowledge of metallurgy preferred.
 
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret internal and or customer requirements and be able to follow detailed instructions.
 
Ability to make independent decisions after review of internal and or customer requirements.
 
Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence or documentation. 
 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
 
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.   Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
Maintain constant alertness and attention to work.
 
Certified weld sample conforming with MIL-STD-1595A.
 
Required periodic testing.
 
Required to take and pass annual vision test.
 
Experience:
 
1 –2 years related experience preferred.
