The Production Planning & Control Manager reports to the Mill Plant Manager and receives functional guidance from the Titanium Segment Master Planner. This role is responsible for translating the Niles product family master supply plans to work center specific production tasks consolidated in weekly/daily master and asset schedules in SAP. Oversees work center capacity management, balances production and inventory levels with demand to support reliable target delivery dates, inventory goals, capacity utilization and revenue/margin targets. Responsibilities also include managing the site’s staff that supports planning/scheduling, shop floor materials management at Niles and its contract manufacturers network, finished product inventory management and manufacturing analytics.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide leadership, management and direction for the production planning, scheduling and control team, which includes Production Planners, Material Applicators, Flow Coordinators, OSC Management staff, Schedulers, Facilitators and Supply Chain Analysts supporting Mill operations.
  • Ensure that all employment practices under his/her control, including hiring, promotions, demotions, and disciplines are conducted in compliance with equal employment opportunity laws and Arconic policy.
  • Develop a personnel-training matrix that identifies what type of training is required, the timeframe for initial and renewable training, and tracks the status of the training program. Conduct training as required.
  • Ensure safe work practices to keep team injury-free.
  • Responsible for production order creation and management, level loading production tasks, managing bookings to promise achievable delivery dates to customers, constraining demand and expediting orders when warranted.
  • Responsible for translating master supply plans to tactical execution of production orders that support customer OTIF targets while meeting business sales, cost and inventory targets.
  • Responsible for the creation of the capacity plans and production schedules by work center in weekly and daily increments, prioritizing orders and controlling flow of materials to the shop floor.
  • Responsible for controlling the cost of outsourcing by engaging contract manufacturers as needed to supplement capacity when required to meet demand.
  • Responsible for communication of production status relative to short-term targets, providing the required visibility to support Daily management and problem solving with credible data describing system’s status.
  • Establishes continuous improvement processes and culture to increase supply reliability to world class levels. Continually analyze process and procedures for opportunities to eliminate waste, streamline for efficiency and utilization of emerging tools and techniques.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of Master and Asset schedules compliance supporting OTIF goals attainment, Inventory and Cost targets, and business process improvements of the production control and planning processes including exploiting full capabilities of SAP system.
  • Responsible for driving and resourcing improvements to Niles master data and shop floor transactional data quality.
  • Represents Arconic in dealings with customers, suppliers and governmental agencies.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 7 years of combined experience in supply planning/scheduling and operations with a minimum of 4 years being in supply planning/scheduling;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Prior supervisory experience;
  • 10+ years of combined experience in supply planning, supply chain/operations in discrete parts manufacturing;
  • Experience working in unionized environments;
  • SAP key user experience;
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs.
  • Advanced proficiency of MS Office tools.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • APICS CPIM certification.
