Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator for our 3rd shift operations.

Summary
Tends wastewater treatment system equipment (i.e. tanks, pumps, treatment chemicals), cooling towers, scrubbers, filter presses, and other equipment used to treat waste water by pH adjustment, oxidation/reduction, and precipitation.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read charts, flow meters, and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions;
  • Coordinate for delivery of treatment chemicals and oversee delivery;
  • Understand wastewater discharge permit limits and monitor water quality;
  • Monitor wastewater system operating parameters and make adjustments as needed;
  • Collect samples, make process reports, and perform minor repairs on equipment;
  • Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions and established procedures;
  • Resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels;
  • Apply basic and develop advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization;
  • Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.     


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
