Job Description

Anopportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Team Leader role in the Casting plant.This role will work between the

ManufacturingManager and the current line of Supervision within the manufacturing team.



  • Create a department structure consisting of Shift Leaders, Cell Leaderswith clear roles and responsibilities and detailed standard

  • Deputize for the manufacturing manager for the daily meetings

  • Provide data driven annual appraisals to department operators

  • To actively and positively promote health and safety tasks/ actions andinitiatives across the site ensuring a culture of managing safely is in line withthe site health and safety policy and current legislation.

  • To ensure that product quality is in accordance within specification andis constantly being monitored and reviewed, to ensure a culture of continuousimprovement through staff training and regular reviews.

  • To ensure employee engagement and provide regular communication sessionsto show the business metrics and performance of the site

  • To provide a structure to manage holidays within the department toensure key skills are covered always with trained competent operators

  • To provide training to the department operators to allow flexibilitybetween the key operations to cover for holiday periods or provide surgecapacity as required

  • To ensure that Production Efficiencies are in line with standard andchanging expectations, driving a culture of continuous improvement

  • To contribute to the continuous improvement in business performance as akey member of the department team; and to assist the Manufacturing Manager todrive forwards the Business strategy.

  • To be involved in the planning process for the department puttingsystems in place where gaps are identified.

  • To work with the ABS Team to put systems in place to make sustainableimprovements

  • To ensure all operations have an up to date well defined standardoperating procedure(SOP) and 100% compliance to follow these procedures

  • Sets a high standardof ethics and compliance, ensuring business processes adhere to our businessconduct policies and procedures

  • Promote quality, best practices, and continuous improvement

  • Drive a positive team culture


Qualificationsand experience:

  • Recognisedprofessional management qualification, degree in manufacturing management or aperiod of work experience in a supervisory / management role

  • Leadership abilities, Effectivecommunication and interpersonal skills

  • Be proficient withcomputer hardware and software

  • Ability to read,analyse and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financialreports.

  • Strong ABS knowledgeand awareness of ABS principles

  • Minimum 3 years of experience inLeadership and People Management skills

  • Solid backgroundin Manufacturing/Operations & able to manage through Supervisors
