This position plans, formulates, & administers various engineering programs. Designs & facilitates capital projects within the processing and window assembly areas. Test newly installed machines & equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. Oversee maintenance system of building B & equipment. Perform cost estimating & troubleshoot equipment. Create, maintain, and update equipment files, programs and drawings. Continuously improve production work design in order to improve operator efficiency.  Job responsibilities include: Providing expert process knowledge and applying engineering science to establish and maintain control and capability for production processes and for continuously improving technology.

•Implementing and directing all phases of complex projects for processing and assembly areas to provide new or upgraded processes and/or equipment.
•Recognizing the need, investigate feasibility, and implement various advanced concepts and major improvements in processing and assembly areas in order to enhance the facility’s economic position in the window market.
•Providing creative, innovative and comprehensive problem-solving capability.
•Conveying technical ideas and concepts within Cranberry to support plant objectives and goals.
•Initiating, reviewing and up-dating engineering standards and guidelines, repair and maintenance recommendations, and equipment supply sources and cost data in support of plant operations.
•Ensure continued departmental effectiveness through the selection, development, training and motivation of a competent staff.
•Oversee the preparation of cost estimates and pricing of products to ensure Alcoa’s competitive market position while maintaining company profit goals.
•Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems through the direction and deployment of manufacturing engineering in order to optimize product performance while minimizing cost.
•Conduct studies related to design, production methods and equipment in order to recommend improvements which will optimize product performance while minimizing cost.
•Monitor and report on cost reductions which are a result of method improvements in order to improve profit margins


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college/university and at least 5 years of extensive engineering and maintenance experience in a plant environment. The incumbent must have good P.C. Skills, which includes standard office software knowledge and basic web tools. Good communication skills are a must as well as an aptitude for detailed work requiring a high degree of accuracy.
