Arconic is currently in search of a Manager, Learning, Development & Talent Management to join our Global Human Resources team in Pittsburgh, PA.


Profile
 
The role will be responsible for leading talent development strategy across the company – including learning and development, talent acquisition and talent management.  To achieve this, the role will manage our global programs and systems and serve as a subject matter expert providing guidance and consultation to HR function. This role will ensure consistency in implementing processes throughout the global organization and maintain a continuous focus on developing and hiring the best possible talent.

Essential Functions


The Manager, Learning, Development & Talent Management position includes both strategic and tactical initiatives within learning and development, talent acquisition and talent management.


 

Responsibilities within Learning and Development:


  • Consult with Business and HR Leaders to conduct needs analysis and design, source/implement impactful learning programs.
  • Design, deliver and implement the learning and development strategy, which includes programs that support talent to ensure we are preparing leaders for today and in the future.
  • Partner with business leaders to select and accelerate the development of a diverse pool of future leaders in the organizations to support talent retention. 
  • Design or source programs for accelerated development across all levels.
  • Manage the curriculum design, implementation and delivery of robust development programs or act as a project manager when external consultants are used that properly prepare employees, supervisors, managers and directors for success.
  • Develop awareness and understanding of expert external content, partnering with external learning providers, modernizing the definition of learning at Arconic—learning should be social, personal, convenient, just in time, current, connected to career paths, etc.
  • Build a coaching and mentoring mindset into our culture.
  • Create or source assessments and tools that link to learning and development options for career and professional growth.
  • Evaluate training and obtain feedback on adequacy of training/learning programs.
  • Develop agile Learning & Development solutions as business needs evolve.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction of the learning management system (Oracle Human Resources Cloud: Learn).


Responsibilities within Talent Acquisition:


  • Become an expert on company roles, culture and performance expectations as well as develop a strong understanding of employment trends within our industry.
  • Responsible for driving usage and strategic direction of the applicant tracking system (Oracle Human Resources Cloud).
  • Implement legally compliant best practices for interviewing and talent evaluation and ensure those practices are applied consistently throughout the organization.
  • Manage the relationships with recruiting agencies ensuring that recruiting partners effectively meet performance goals as well as the company’s high ethical standards.
  • Proactively manage and promote the company hiring brand and drive interest in the organization through various approaches (website, branding, social media, etc).
  • Track key recruiting metrics, evaluate Return on Investment (ROI) on recruiting initiatives.
  • Identify and implement the use of effective diversity recruiting resources and tools to enable the attraction and selection of the top diverse talent for critical roles for the US.
  • Track diversity sourcing metrics and provide reports to track progress and recommend opportunities for improvement.


Responsibilities within Talent Management:


  • Align talent management programs to improve quality and process understanding across the HR function, managers and employees. Ensure delivery of associated resources, training and tools to assist HR teams in communicating and executing the process and monitoring it for effectiveness.
  • Performance Management – drive a high-quality performance management process across the company.  Provide training materials to managers and employees to improve quality and process understanding.
    • Share best practices in goal setting, continuous feedback and conducting performance reviews.
    • Oversee tracking of employee performance metrics and provide reports to leadership.
  • Talent Reviews – partner with the HR function to execute an annual talent review process to monitor the talent pipeline and identify critical talent/succession planning & development priorities.
  • Career Planning – guide the creation of a career planning process.
  • Talent Retention – partner with HR function to understand current attrition levels and identify opportunities to reduce attrition and improve productivity.  Support and deploy stay interviews process.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction of the talent management systems (Oracle Human Resources Cloud).


Other responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of HR professionals for successful execution of the strategy.
  • Partner with HR Directors and the HR Technology, Compensation, Benefits, Reporting and Communications teams to understand their programs/needs and identify interlocks to maintain alignment.
  • Develop and build a strong understanding of the company.
  • Develop and build awareness of key Arconic talent and their career plans and aspirations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ of experience in business, learning and development, human resources, change management, talent management and/or organizational development.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ of experience successfully leading a team in the design and delivery of global learning and development programs.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, L&D, Business or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive learning and development or talent development experience with demonstrated progression and proven growth path.
  • Strong Talent Management experience with a proven record of designing and implementing global Learning & Development programs / solutions is essential.
  • Experience successfully navigating a global, matrixed organization, ideally during a transformation.
  • Strong experience managing vendors.
