The Jr. Melt Process Engineer, reporting directly to the Principal Process Engineer, offers the opportunity to become a vital member of a high profile, high energy, titanium melting production unit within a well-established, respected company with decades of industry leading manufacturing performance.
The successful candidate will work as a process engineer in a titanium melting facility, located in Niles, Ohio, performing double vacuum arc remelt process. The role works closely with the Quality, Operations, and Metallurgy departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with daily challenges and long-term growth and development. Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Perform contract review of incoming ingot orders and translate the ingot requirements into melt process requirements.
  • Perform daily review of the melt process and products for adherence to material requirements.
  • Review and disposition of non-conforming material. •Perform weekly detailed process walks to evaluate overall shop performance.
  • Develop qualification plans for raw material, process, and equipment changes.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor Statistical Process Control charting for key process parameters.
  • Participate in multifunctional teams and complete assigned tasks.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Process Engineering or Quality Engineering;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Green Belt preferred in Statistical Process Control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Formal training and/or experience with continuous improvement tools such as six-sigma and lean manufacturing
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • VAR melting experience, reactive metals experience a plus
  • Manufacturing background is preferred, technical troubleshooting is a plus
