Arconic is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX)  business unit in Lafayette, IN.
Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to implement the people plan within his/her respective areas of responsibility. This person will work directly with Department/Area Managers as a partner in achieving their strategic and tactical plans.
Essential Functions: The Human Resources Business Partner within AEX requires interpersonal skills essential to team work.  Major duties include but are not limited to:
  • Responsibility for various people metrics, as well as being actively engaging in department activities in his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Providing timely communications/counsel to the departments in their respective areas and being the designated HR contact for HR/IR issues in those departments
  • Responsibility for taking action to ensure that all employment practices under his/her control, including hiring, promotions, demotions, and discipline are conducted in compliance with equal employment opportunity laws and Arconic policy.
  • Staying current with local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes governing equal employment opportunity practices.

    General duties for the Human Resources Business Partner include but are not limited to:
  • Salary Planning
  • Organizational development and coaching
  • Workforce Planning
  • Staffing roles (job postings, interviewing, selection)
  • Training



Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Engineering or Sciences from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 5 years in an HR function at a manufacturing facility
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8 plus years’ experience in a HR function at a manufacturing facility
  • Experience working in a Union environment
  • Strong experience with organizational design and development
  • Excellent working knowledge of their respective areas
  • Forward thinking and results oriented
  • Resourcefulness and quick thinking
  • Ability to coach managers and employees in difficult situations
  • Understanding of HR Generalist duties
