Arconic Engineered Structures (AES) is seeking a Forgings Marketing Manager for the AES Business Unit. This position will be based in Cleveland, Ohio. The primary purpose of this role is to support the Forgings and Machining Marketing Director in driving profitable growth in the aerospace and industrial forgings market, preserve the current customer base, and coordinate new product developments and tailored applications within the forgings industry. The incumbent shall be responsible for the Aircraft Wheel and Brake, Engine, and Industrial markets and accountable for forging revenue and five-year planning for those markets. This is a strategic role for a growth market within the Arconic Engineered Structures business unit. 

Role accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Forecasting: Aid the marketing team in the forecasting process for forgings within respective markets. Maintain forecast data and critical market information, helping to publish monthly commercial demand reports and presentations.
  • New Product Proposals and Quotations:  Provide spot and long-term agreement proposals to customers for the responsible markets. Calculate pricing, assess profitability, and assist in negotiations to help close sales.
  • Collectively understand and apply AES’s capabilities, core competencies and strategy to determine what opportunities (RFQ’s and Inquiries) will and will not be quoted. This position, with the help and guidance of the Director of Marketing, will be responsible to act as the first gate review/filter for which opportunities are worthy of the deployment of resources to effectively quote.
  • Effectively use an RFQ/QUOTE database to track business opportunities, analyze marketplace trends, and make recommendations on future business directions and pricing strategies to the Director of Marketing.
  • Pricing: Provide transactional pricing for key contracts and spot opportunities.
  • Manage Indices: Evaluate and update contract pricing with recognized market index formulas.
  • Growth strategy: Develop product and revenue pipeline including lead tracking, opportunity identification, and communication of value propositions. Address customer questions and manage product related reporting through standard Arconic systems. Provide key contract support for both new LTAs and renewal efforts.
  • Product Strategy: Harness Arconic technical advantage by coordinating business unit technical resources, estimating, and engineering support to develop cutting edge product offerings, tailor new product opportunities to meet customer needs, and communicate value to the customer. Work closely with supply chain and operations resources to optimize product mix and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Capacity Planning: Partner with the location manager for capacity planning, management, and balancing.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Consolidate product and competitor intelligence and market trends gathered from various sources (including field sales) to the Arconic Marketing Team. Develop an understanding of relative share of Arconic’s products vs. competition.
  • Customer Education: Develop and provide the Sales force with updated marketing materials to communicate our value proposition, technical prowess, and products to proactively educate the customer base on Arconic product offerings.
  • Marketing procedures: Standardize and continually advance marketing procedures to improve Ease of Doing Business, increase responsiveness to the customer, and expand internal process efficiency.
  • Management and execution of key analysis and reporting as it relates to the product, pricing, and contract details for respective markets.
  • Relationship management: Develop strong relationships with internal resources and targeted customers, positioning Arconic as the preferred forgings provider.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Economics, or Finance from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in marketing, sales, or a similar function
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’) Political Asylee, or Refugee.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Commercial Aerospace, Defense, or Industrial Markets
  • MBA Degree from an accredited institution
