Job Description

Primary Purpose of the role:

Responsible for fabrication and internal testing and analysis of the development systems using specialist test rig in accordance with company procedures; which follow current British and adopted European standards. Also to conduct witnessed internal tests to customer requirements. Support the Design Centre engineers in the fabrication of component samples to aid visual understanding and development.

Key activities and responsibilities of the role include:

  • TestLaboratory – To maintain and protect the integrity of the test laboratory,ensuring all equipment and tools are sound and functional to undertake tasks.

  • Fabrication– To support development by fabricating sample connection(s) up to fullassemblies for internal and external testing. Offering unique ‘hands on’feedback to aid / improve development.

  • Testing– Responsible for conducting internal testing to sequences as instructed. Commissioningof test reports to substantiate test results. Provide experienced assistance inexternal testing programmes.

  • Communication/ Distribution - To ensure that all relevant personnel have the correct /up-to-date information. In what ever format required


Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Qualifications, in Engineering, Building or Metal Construction. For example: UK – minimum City and Guilds/NVQ LVL2 in mechanical / manufacturing
  • Background, aluminum windows and curtain wall industry preferable
  • Experience in Tooling, CNC Machinery, Hardware, Glass, Glazing and Site Installation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
