Job Description



Essential Functions



Under minimal supervision, lead the electrical safety efforts for the facility, troubleshoot and maintain electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operator interface terminals for industrial manufacturing equipment. 

 


Job Responsibilities

•        Program PLCs and diagnose machine faults/failures
•        Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment involving checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, as well as making camera and software adjustments
•        Teach hourly craftsmen how to execute front line trouble shooting activities on equipment
•        Research and recommend machine control upgrades to address outdated controls
•        Manage and document changes to electrical drawings and generate upgraded drawings
•        Manage and document revisions to equipment PLC Programs
•        Project management: Upgrades to existing equipment, facility/infrastructure, and the installation of new equipment
•        Prepare daily log reports and document/track the off-shift activity to ensure proper follow up on machine problems and repairs
•        Develop and implement electrical safety policies and procedures
•        Foster a culture of a proactive maintenance environment by driving preventive maintenance and other planned work;
•        Communication – use all the tools that we have to be able to communicate between shifts (verbal, written, voicemail and e-mail);
•        Coordinate with Maintenance Shift Supervisor regarding planning the daily activities of their maintenance crews, providing the tools, materials and technical direction for the normal maintenance, preventative maintenance and the capital work in their areas;
•        Ability to perform root cause failure analysis with to goal to prevent reoccurrence and further downtime;
•        Coordinate and manage the development of maintenance work procedures and standard work practices and procedures
•        Follow all safety procedures LOTO / PPE / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits / Fall Protection
•        Other projects and responsibilities as specified by the department manager.

Qualifications

Experience and Background.
•        Minimum of five years industrial electrical maintenance experience
•        Experience on Low/Medium/High Voltage Equipment
•        Must have working knowledge of motors control centers.
•        Experience with PLC Programming capability (Allen Bradley)
•        Proficient user of general PC applications including MS Office.
•        Working knowledge of electrical safety codes including the NEC, NFPA70E and NFPA79.
•       Good oral and written communication skills, problem solving, good computer skills, organized ability to work in a team environment.

•       Knowledgeable in a variety of machine software
•      Working from electrical schematics, must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and isolate electrical and electronics issues in a timely manner.
•       Good working knowledge in PCs and application software is essential.
•       Must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work as a team player.
•        Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
•        Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
