Arconic is currently in search of an EBS Oracle Operations Manager to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Resource Unit in Pittsburgh, PA.
The EBS Oracle Operations Manager is responsible for operational support of the Oracle R12 EBS ERP, Oracle Data Warehouse, and Hyperion financial systems platforms.  One of the key functions of the role is to provide oversight and escalation of the above noted application platforms for the Arconic Business Units.  Responsibilities include investigating and resolving support issues, championing process improvements, coordinating technical work, and coordinating support efforts across various infrastructure and application support teams.
This position is also responsible for the global application patch and instance management.  This involves evaluating, planning/scheduling and processing the application patch requests and managing the number, function, cloning schedule, etc., of the EBS OLTP instances.
Essential Functions:  
 The functions of the EBS operations manager includes but is not limited to:
  • Working knowledge of Oracle EBS system architecture and modules (OTC, GL, RtP and manufacturing areas).
  • Lead incident management and problem management processes which includes process definition, process implementation and execution. Proactive monitoring, tracking and reporting. Ongoing Process and system improvement.
  • Development and enhancement of standard operating procedures and processes to ensure reliable delivery of information technology while championing process improvements.
  • Research and recommend new methods and techniques to improve operations.
  • Manage the reactionary support and/or preventive maintenance process for the systems or technologies in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Must demonstrate a solid understanding of systems architecture, hardware, operations, and system life cycle.
  • Must have strong human relation skills and be able to interact with internal and external customers, vendors, and other IS professionals.
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to develop & sustain strong customer relationships.
  • Maintain in-depth awareness of current Oracle technologies and development activities to assist in development of forward technical vision.
  • Operate within Arconic GIS standards and conventions and applicable Arconic Business Unit/Resource Units IT standards.
  • Analyze any changes to capacity plan to ensure that future architecture will meet the requirements.
  • Application patch management and instance management:
  • Review, research, approve and schedule the application patch requests.
  • Plan and manage the number of dev/test instances, cloning schedules, etc.
Essential Knowledge and Skills  
The functions of the EBS operations manager includes but is not limited to:
  • 5 years of experience in Oracle Apps Technical Stack with strong solutioning, design & development experience in Oracle EBS R12.
  • Knowledge of governance and change management procedures in an IT environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is a necessity.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive consensus and absorb and present complex ideas in a succinct and accurate manner.
  • Should have strong English communication and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in Design and architecture review.
  • Experience in software development life cycle.
  • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.
  • Hands on management of all Sev1 and Sev2 incidents.
  • Maintain SLA’s with the business and all other IT support teams on key metrics.
  • Work with external vendors to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Proactively monitor production to identify processes/defects for long term application improvements.
  • Problem solving with strong sense of ownership and urgency.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS Technologies
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Oracle EBS applications technical stack
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of Hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position    
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion suite of EPM modules a plus particularly with a focus on HFM, Essbase, and planning
  • Knowledge of Oracle Data Warehouse architecture and tool sets
  • Knowledge of Oracle DBMS and associated technical architecture
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system
  • Knowledge with Oracle Fusion Middleware
