Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

We are seeking an Architectural Services Team Member whose primary purpose is to focus on providing product solutions for the proper application to support the design professionals performance and aesthetic requirements while positioning BCS/Kawneer for a competitive bid advantage.  This position will influence the design communities construction drawings and specifications to position BCS/Kawneer product brands to have a competitive advantage and contribute to the businesses revenue stream.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand architectural design drawings to provide appropriate technical solutions for project specific requirements;
  • Provide timely response to architects, designers and specifies as follow up to direct e-mail, phone and web inquires;
  • Provide standard, modified and custom detail information to design professionals for project specific requirements;
  • Utilize the company website to assist design professionals;
  • Use CRM software to create and manage project files to communicate project status with the commercial sales team;
  • Work closely with the commercial sales organization to maximize promotional opportunities to close bid projects;
  • Identify and communicate emerging market and/or product needs to the product management group;
  • Promote new products whenever possible;
  • Utilize Construction Market Data (CMD) reporting system to track and share project status with the commercial sales team.
Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:
  • Possess the ability to read and understand architectural construction documents and specifications;
  • Possess basic knowledge of structural engineering principles and concepts;
  • Possess basic knowledge and ability to use AutoCAD;
  • Possess familiarity with CRM solutions and metric-driven management;
  • Ability to counsel with customers on matters of product selection, product application and installation processes;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers;
  • Maintain building and construction and/or architectural industry knowledge;
  • Must be results oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently.


Basic Requirements
  • Associates degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales, product engineering, product development, or application engineering;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
 Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in technical sales, product engineering, product development, or application engineering;
  • Previous experience working with Curtain Wall, Window Wall and /or SEF systems.
