Job Description

The Sales/Account Manager for Commercial Aerospace and Defense team in the Global Rolled Products (GRP and Aluminum Extrusion) business unit supports a high growth, dynamic, and fast-paced business environment. The position reports to the Sales Director - Aerospace North America, and collaborates with application engineers, inside sales representatives, operations, supply chain and marketing employees to accomplish positive business outcomes.  The position supports Arconic’s extrusion business with Boeing. Sales responsibility is circa $50 million.
Responsibilities:
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the Boeing business, both internally and externally.
• Work in conjunction with Manufacturing and the Business Unit to offer solutions and services to Boeing.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Boeing’s decision-making process and recommend/implement actions to achieve Arconic’s business goals as a result.
• Take the lead in developing and executing an overall extrusion business strategy for the Boeing account.
• Become familiar with S&OP and systems at Arconic to support the detail forecasting, contract compliance and project management required.
• Establish close relationships and linkages with all levels of customer purchasing, technical, engineering and  program management personnel. He/she must be able to influence the outcome of quotations and proposals and collect useful competitive information.
• Establish close linkages with Arconic manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, quality, transportation, field service and technical support teams.
• Ability to understand customer dynamics and decision makers to effectively sell Arconic's product to meet Boeing’s needs.
This position has a direct impact on the volume and profitability for the Arconic GRP/AEX. Critical skills and abilities include:
• Able to effectively propose and present strategies and use required skills to execute Arconic targeted goals and objectives at Boeing.
• Ability to comprehend the complex technical processes critical to understanding Boeing’s needs and requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the aluminum industry, preferably in a commercial role.
• Must live in the Seattle area or have a willingness to relocate to Seattle
• Must be willing to function via a home office
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in aluminum sales, ideally high strength extrusions sales into aerospace & defense
• Master’s degree in engineering management or an MBA
• Proficiency in use of Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be willing to travel 10%-25%
• Strong Interpersonal, team leadership, and communication skills
