The primary duty of the Maintenance Manager is to manage and implement predictive, preventive and reactive maintenance processes for assigned facilities to ensure high reliability of equipment and systems in support of meeting safety, profitability, cost and production goals at Arconic Barberton.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and implement a long range strategic improvement maintenance plan;
  • Implement and improve proactive activities including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM;
  • Ensure that breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes are minimized;
  • Implement programs to ensure regular inspection and maintenance of all the machinery in the facility;
  • Supervise, lead and inspire a team of subordinates to efficiently achieve departmental objectives through daily planning and scheduling and reviews of work performance;
  • Plan maintenance and service activities in a way to maximize customer relationship with other departments;
  • Manage department spending and performance, initiates programs and procedures to reduce spending and enhance performance;
  • Communicate policies and ensure employees create a safe, productive and pleasant working environment;
  • Participate in the selection of equipment;
  • Supervise product standards and enforces quality-control programs;
  • Work with managers effectively to ensure the policies and goals of the organization are met or exceeded;
  • Serve as a resource to define storeroom stocking plan;
  • Implement programs for loss analysis to develop improvement plans or root cause analysis;
  • Determine skill gaps within the department and defines training to bridge the gaps;
  • Participate in objective setting, plan development and review of plant performance;
  • Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance related problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Manager in a manufacturing and / or plant environment;
  • Experience with CMMS System(s);
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with CNC machining processes;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with implementation of LEAN Manufacturing tools and techniques;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with project implementation.
