Job Description

This role will report directly to the North America IT Manager but will take much of their direction from the AFE Supply Chain director in terms of business need and priority. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting, enhancing and creating reporting infrastructures as needed to support the changing needs of the Arconic Forgings and Extrusion (AFE) Business unit.

The primary purpose of the function includes:

  • Provide primary technical support for several reporting based applications, and will be responsible for impact and upgrade testing as well as continuous support and improvement.
  • Responsible for the creation, deployment, and intermittent update of the strategy as it relates to reporting needs. The strategy provides the most value at the least cost while keeping our current reporting technological environment current, stable and supported.
  • Work with users and management to define requirements and then work independently on delivering end results or create project requests with internal AFE developers or contract development work within Arconic Centralized Resource units.
  • Partner with plant leaders, AFE Functional teams and internal department co-workers to translate business needs into the right actionable specifications.
  • Follow and implement compliance standards that are defined within the AFE IT Team.
  • Utilize the system development life cycle and work within standards to maintain a compliant and stable reporting environment.
  • As many of AFE's plants operate 7 days a week, critical reporting may require occasional weekend and off hours’ support. This role will include devising a strategy for this support to the AFE business.
  • Occasional travel both domestically and internationally may be require as AFE currently has locations in North America, Europe and South Korea.
  • As a member of the AFE Information Technology team, there is occasionally a need for weekend or off hours support beyond the role defined here. This could be in support of AFE business initiatives like Physical inventories or Arconic technical initiatives requiring weekend or evening outages.
  • Ability to work in a global environment with virtual teams that accommodate cultural, national, time zone, language, and other differences among team members and customers.

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams including members from other disciplines and organizations.

    Basic Qualifications

    • •Minimum of one year experience gathering and developing user requirements
      •Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
      •This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.



      Preferred Qualifications

      •Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field
      •Minimum of 2 years experience in information systems technology
      •2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
      •Fundamental understanding and significant experience with the system development lifecycle.
      •Ability to analyze and query data from Oracle and SQL Server databases
      •Ability to work with large volumes of data and transform it into meaningful information
      •Experience in Oracle PL/SQL, Discoverer, Hyperion Reporting software
      •Experience in BI Analytics or other Analytical Applications
      •Strong background in manufacturing knowledge as it relates to Production Control, Order Bookings, Historical Sales, Financial Impact and working knowledge of the Aluminum Industry as it relates to data reporting.
      •Ability to converse with users on requirement gathering and is comfortable communicating within all levels within the organization
